Liverpool round-up: Klopp wants Real Madrid man; contract talks stall with Can; “all out” for winger
Jurgen Klopp is keen on bringing Real Madrid defender Danilo to Anfield according to , as Juventus also track the right-back. The Brazilian was signed from Porto ahead of last season but has disappointed most in the Spanish capital with his unreliable performances.
The 25-year-old has made just 15 starts in all competitions this season and is expected to be shifted if an adequate offer comes in this summer, though it would seem a strange signing for the Reds with Nathaniel Clyne an established first choice and young Trent Alexander-Arnold promising in his handful of performances.
Juventus are also believed to be monitoring the situation of midfielder Emre Can as the say that contract talks with the German are still stalling as the 23-year-old is hoping to more than double his wages from his current £35,000 per week with only 18 months left on his existing deal.
The club do not want to be held to ransom and are prepared to sell him this summer if they do not think that a deal will be possible with his agents playing hardball. Can’s stop and start form will have done little to help him in negotiations but the club would still be reluctant to let him go.
In terms of summer incomings, Liverpool Echo journalist James Pearce spoke to to reveal that he believes that the club will move for Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt in the summer as he said:
“I’m not sure if he’s the No 1 target but he’s certainly very high up on Klopp’s summer shopping list. Klopp wanted to buy him in January but Leverkusen were adamant that he wasn’t for sale. Klopp rates Brandt very highly and Liverpool will certainly go all out to get him this summer.”

The 20-year-old, who can play on either flank or in a central role, has scored three times and recorded six assists this season in the Bundesliga. Leverkusen are thought to be reluctant to part with their man, who has four full international caps to his name, but Liverpool could make a big money move for him.
