Liverpool fans rave about Rhian Brewster after win over MK Dons

Liverpool secured a safe passage into the last 16 of the Carabao Cup last night with a 2-0 win over MK Dons. Goals from James Milner and Ki-Jana Hoever ensured the Reds avoided an upset.

Boss Jurgen Klopp did opt to ring the changes with several first-team stars not even in the squad. The devastating front three, Virgil van Dijk, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho were all given a watching brief for the trip to Stadium MK.

Following the game, Liverpool were handed a home draw against Arsenal and it remains to be seen whether a similar rotation policy will be in place for that one.

Last night saw the long-awaited debut of Rhian Brewster. Having come through the youth ranks at Liverpool he had been expected to do big things. A serious injury curtailed his progress last season; although he did feature on the bench towards the closing stages.

Klopp had just been waiting for the right time to unleash him and that came against the League One side last night.

The 19-year-old played the full 90 minutes and was delighted to get out on the pitch, showing his delight on Twitter following the contest:

Brewster was on the bench for Sunday’s win at Chelsea and the next challenge will be to get on the pitch in the Premier League or Champions League.

It is clear that Liverpool fans rate Brewster highly, with some reacting to his performance via his post on social media:
