Liverpool reportedly ready to bid for defender Llorente after intensive scouting
Liverpool are readying a bid for Real Sociedad central defender Diego Llorente this summer,
They that Liverpool have been intensively scouting the Spanish international throughout the season – sending people to watch him in person several times – and are prepared to offer 25 million euros (£22 million) for his services.
Llorente has a release clause of double that – £44 million – but the does say that a compromise could be reached as Sociedad understand that such a huge price could put off suitors.
Liverpool have put together a fantastic squad, coming of course within a whisker of winning the Premier League and reaching the Champions League final for the second successive year – but centre half remains a slight weakness.

Joe Gomez has stepped up impressively at times but has also had injury problems, and while Joel Matip has had his best season in red, there’s an argument that a senior partner for Virgil van Dijk wouldn’t go amiss.
Dejan Lovren has shown time and time again that he shouldn’t be that man and Llorente is on an entirely different level.
The 25-year-old has experience aplenty but also time to improve on a hugely impressive campaign. A deal under £44m is not bad value at all in the current market and given that Jurgen Klopp doesn’t have too many other pressing transfer concerns, he should make hay at centre back from a position of strength.
