Liverpool reportedly handed boost in pursuit of player Lionel Messi says is ‘impressive’

Liverpool may just have been handed a huge boost in their reported pursuit of Jadon Sancho with an agreement believed to be in place between the player and Borussia Dortmund, according to .

The claimed in February that the Reds had informed the Bundesliga club of their desire to sign Sancho later this year.

Numerous other elite clubs have also been linked with the attacker, including Manchester United, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea ().

It’s little surprise that Sancho is so in demand, given his impressive stats so far – in 90 competitive Dortmund games, he has registered .

Over the years, elite players have been sold for upwards of £100million, and is one of several outlets to have previously reported that Sancho has a £120million price tag.

The latest report, meanwhile, has claimed that a figure in excess of £100million has been agreed between Sancho and current employers Dortmund which would give him the green light to leave if matched by a suitor, the club seemingly not standing in his way in that case.

Liverpool are one of the strongest clubs in world football and Sancho is one of the best young footballers out there, so it’s no surprise to see the two linked.

The 20-year-old – whose talents have been deemed “impressive” by Lionel Messi, amid many other plaudits – would make the Reds’ already fearsome attacking ranks even more frightening.

Given Liverpool are probably the most attractive proposition for a player in terms of English clubs really it’s just a question of whether Liverpool have the funds to purchase him – easier said than done in light of current events, mind.
