Liverpool pushing hard to sign ‘exceptional’ Brazilian player who is not up for sale

As transfer plans begin to gather pace under Arne Slot, Liverpool are said to be the ‘main candidates’ attempting to sign a Brazilian who isn’t up for sale.

Right now, Slot has made it clear that he needs time to assess the squad he’s inheriting from Jurgen Klopp.

Following Klopp’s rebuild of his midfield last summer, there’s a real depth of talent at Anfield, and if Slot weren’t to add any new signings he would still be in a strong position.

But in order to mark this new era, Liverpool will back their new manager, and Richard Hughes has indicated that moves will likely come to fruition later in the window.

And in order to deliver those targets, work will now be happening behind the scenes.

Perhaps signing a new centre-back to replace Joel Matip will become the biggest priority, especially with Virgil van Dijk now entering the last year of his contract.

Slot will still have Ibrahima Konate and Jarell Quansah at his disposal, but will need to make a decision over the permanent future of Sepp van den Berg.

Liverpool in pole position to test Juventus’ resolve for Brazilian defender Bremer

Although Van den Berg has impressed Slot in pre-season, it seems likely that Liverpool will add further competition.

And to that end, are now reporting that Liverpool are pushing hard to sign Brazilian centre-back Gleison Bremer.

27-year-old Bremer has attracted interest from several of Europe’s elite sides but Liverpool are considered the ‘main candidates’.

According to the report, Slot’s side are willing to offer €60m (£51m) for the Brazilian, who would surely then be intended as a starter.

That being said, Juventus would be loath to lose ‘exceptional’ Bremer, who could become an important player for Thiago Motta’s new era.

Bremer made 40 appearances for Juve last season, explaining why it would be odd for the Turin side to sanction a departure.

But perhaps Liverpool feel as if their offer could ultimately be too good to refuse – should Hughes and his team make a concerted move.

Thankfully, it seems as if Liverpool’s current Brazilian star Alisson won’t be leaving the club this summer.

The keeper has interest from Saudi Arabia, but Alisson is concerned about trading Liverpool for Al-Nassr.
