‘I don’t think it was checked by VAR’: Sky pundit suggests one Liverpool player nearly cost his side dear v Napoli
Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate received criticism from Sky Sports pundit Glenn Murray on .
Murray felt the 23-year-old Reds ace got away with a foul which should’ve led to a penalty for Napoli.
Liverpool hosted the Serie A tabletoppers at Anfield in their final Champions League Group A game.

With Jurgen Klopp’s side already through to the knockout stages, the pressure was mostly off.
That said, a four-goal swing would ensure that Liverpool finish top of Group A.
In the 10th minute, the impressive Khvicha Kvaratskhelia threatened for the visitors.
He went down in the box after a shoulder-to-shoulder with Konate, which went unpunished.
Murray, speaking on Soccer Special, felt Kvaratskhelia should’ve won a penalty for his side.
“Napoli should have had a penalty,” he said. “Kvaratshkelia should have had a penalty.
“He’s in front of Konate and he’s just pushed him.
“The referee has just waved it away. I don’t think it was checked by VAR. I don’t know why.”

In the 37th minute, Konate picked up the first booking of the game.
The ace went in late from behind on Stanislav Labotka.
And the referee, who had let a lot slide, brandished one of his cards for the first time in the match.
Neither side managed to break the deadlock come half-time, but Liverpool went on to win with two late goals.
In the 85th minute, Darwin Nunez forced a save from Alex Meret which Mohamed Salah converted on the rebound.
And in injury time, Nunez hammered home on the line after Meret kept out Virgil van Dijk’s header.
After a VAR check, the Uruguayan was awarded his first Champions League goal for Liverpool.
‘Crowd favourite’
Meanwhile, Konate went on to improve and ended the match with plenty of credit.
Both the and gave him 8 out of 10.
‘Passing radar understandably a bit rusty at times early on but able to push forward,’ wrote the former.
‘Became more decisive defensively second half. Crowd favourite.’
And the latter wrote: ‘Proved steel in the first half, making one superbly-timed tackle to stop Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in his tracks, while he went on a couple of marauding runs out of defence.
‘Had some robust duals with Victor Osimhen in the second half, winning the majority. Booked.’
