Liverpool fans discuss future of Naby Keita after Everton omission
Liverpool thrashed local rivals Everton 5-2 at Anfield last night, maintaining their eight-point cushion at the top of the Premier League.
Jurgen Klopp used the game as an opportunity to give some of his fringe players some much-needed game time.
Divock Origi, Xherdan Shaqiri and Adam Lallana all received the nod to start.
The trio didn’t disappoint. Origi and Shaqiri both scored, whilst Lallana was at his energetic best.

One man who didn’t win a starting berth, however, was Naby Keita.
The midfield maestro was forced to settle for a place on the bench and wasn’t even introduced for a cameo by Klopp.
Injury issues have restricted him to just two Premier League appearances this season. In the absence of Fabinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, it was anticipated Keita might get the nod to play.
The Guinea-born performer cost Liverpool £48 million in 2018 but fitness concerns have stopped him making a real impact.

Following his latest omission, the club’s supporters have been discussing what it might mean for his future.
Some have been speculation exactly why he wasn’t introduced at all.
Here is a selection of tweets from Liverpool fans on the absence of the £120,000-a-week star for the visit of Everton:
Keita can’t even get a game in a match like this? It’s over for him at Liverpool

Keita does not have a future at Anfield. Jurgen picked lallana over him. The mans career is dead at the club— The Hard Truth 🇵🇸 (@TheHard88574833)
Glad to see Shaqiri back in the line up. Not happy for Keita, but I think its safe to say his Liverpool career might be finished before its even begun
