Liverpool fans react as Simon Mignolet claims assist against Manchester United

Simon Mignolet left Liverpool during the summer ending a six-year association with the club. He departed for Club Brugge with the Reds recouping from the Belgian outfit.

The 31-year-old made 204 appearances for Liverpool but fell out of favour following the arrival of Alisson Becker from Roma.

He has now found himself at Brugge and he has made a good start to life with the Belgian giants. So far in 2019/20, he has played in every game except for one in the first round of the domestic cup.

Last night, he adhered himself to Liverpool supporters once again. The Belgian outfit secured a battling 1-1 draw against Manchester United in the Europa League, with Emmanuel Dennis scoring his goal from a Mignolet assist.

With United caught napping, the custodian fired a long-ball downfield and Dennis scored to give Brugge an early lead in the tie.

Mignolet is only the second goalkeeper this season to register an assist against United, with the other being Alisson when he set up Mo Salah in Liverpool’s recent 2-0 win over the Red Devils.

Naturally, supporters were delighted and took to Twitter to congratulate Mignolet for his piece of brilliance against Liverpool’s fierce rivals.

Here is a selection of tweets from the Reds supporters on the Belgium international.
