Report: Liverpool made offer for ‘incredible’ player Arsenal want on deadline day before pursuing Arthur Melo
It’s a busy old deadline day in the Premier League and according to Sky Sports, Douglas Luiz is a wanted man.
) has claimed that Luiz could yet leave Aston Villa before the deadline passes, with both Arsenal and Liverpool interested in England and Juventus keen over in Italy.
Of course, Liverpool are believed to be close to signing Juventus midfielder, Arthur Melo, as Jurgen Klopp gets his wish to boost his midfield ranks ahead of the weekend. But according to Sky’s report here, the Reds have actually also made a bid for Luiz as they looked to test the water at Villa Park.

Arsenal are thought to be the favourites to land Luiz as it stands, with Fabrizio Romano claiming earlier this morning that the Brazilian actually wants the move to The Emirates.
Steven Gerrard is believed to be keen on keeping Luiz but spoke last night how the decision could be taken out of his hands due to the midfielder’s contract situation. Luiz is into the final 10 months of his deal, with Villa unsure if he is even open to extending that deal.
A move to Arsenal would seem the more logical step at the moment, while Liverpool could well down tools if and when the signing of Melo is confirmed.
