Liverpool-linked gem compared to Johan Cruyff, ex-chairman says it’d be ‘total shame’ if he left
Reported Liverpool target Ferran Torres has been compared to the great Johan Cruyff by former Valencia chairman Paco Roig, in conversation with .
According to , Liverpool have made contact with the dazzling 20-year-old’s representatives in recent weeks, given his exploits in recent years.
To date, Torres has made 88 first-team appearances for Valencia, netting nine goals and registering 11 assists, according to .

The player, rated as one of the brightest prospects in Spain, penned a new contract with Los Che in April 2018 in a deal which runs through until 2021.
However, he has reportedly rebuffed efforts on Valencia’s part to get him tied down on fresh terms ().
“I have always thought that he looked like Cruyff,” Roig, who was chairman at Valencia between 1994 and 1997, told . “For me it is a total shame (if he goes).”
TBR View:
Torres is a versatile forward who can play on both flanks as a winger, but can also play across the front line – qualities which would surely appeal to Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.
While his reported €100million (£92million) release clause looks prohibitively expensive, Los Che may be forced to accept an offer some way below that figure in order to afford seeing a price set by a tribunal ().
However, the Reds would be up against tough competition – Manchester United, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Ajax, Atletico Madrid and Manchester City have reportedly all enquired as to the possible availability of the youngster.
