Liverpool legend John Aldridge brands Mane-Salah rift ‘nonsense’

Liverpool legend John Aldridge believes continued talk of a rift between superstars Sadio Mane and Mo Salah is well wide of the mark.

The pair made headlines last month after Mane let his frustrations with the Egyptian boil over after being substituted against Burnley.

Salah had a good chance to square the ball to Mane before his teammate was hooked, but opted to shoot instead.

Jurgen Klopp played down the incident, and things have been plain sailing since with the Reds still in possession of a 100% record in the Premier League.

In the eyes of Aldridge, the idea of there being bad blood between the pair is ‘nonsense’.

: “It’s just the way it is. They do look for each other; there was a passage of play on Saturday [vs Leicester] where there were three one-twos between them, and it would have been a marvellous goal.

“It’s just been highlighted because of what happened at Burnley. But it is nonsense. They do look for each other, and they are both world class.”

TBR’s view

If there is some strain deep down, it certainly isn’t showing and performance on the pitch definitely hasn’t been affected.

Mane is at the very top of his game right now and Salah is yet to hit top form this season but he forever looks a threat for Liverpool.

All that matters to Liverpool fans is that the team win games and both have contributed significantly to that cause both this season and last.
