Liverpool fans wowed by ‘outrageous’ player who shone alongside Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah v Leicester
Liverpool cemented their position at the top of the Premier League table after coming from behind to beat Leicester City 3-1 at Anfield on Boxing Day.
Liverpool got off to a poor start when Jordan Ayew opened the scoring for Leicester after just six minutes.
However, the Reds equalised on the stroke of half-time through Cody Gakpo, who was a constant thorn in the Foxes’ side in the first half.
Curtis Jones and Mohamed Salah then turned things round in the second half as Liverpool went seven points clear at the Premier League summit.
And while Gakpo and Salah were impressive for Liverpool, fans were also eager to praise a player who didn’t get on the scoresheet for the Reds.

Liverpool fans wowed by Alexis Mac Allister heroics against Leicester
The player in question is Alexis Mac Allister, who provided the assists for Jones and Salah to turn the game around for Liverpool.
Mac Allister set Gakpo up to cut inside from the left before whipping in a brilliant effort into the far corner.
The Argentina international then timed his run into the box to latch on to Salah’s ball before setting Jones up for the finishing touch.
Liverpool fans sung Mac Allister’s praises, with one supporter declaring him “the best midfielder in the world, no doubt”.
One Liverpool fan said he “has been unreal today” and another wrote “I cannot believe how good Mac Allister is”.
Another supporter joked “never mess with a Mac Allister at Christmas”, in reference to the film Home Alone.
“Alexis Mac Allister has been running the show in midfield today,” wrote Anfield Watch.
Another fan wrote: “Two assists against Leicester for Alexis Mac Allister. The best midfielder in the league.”
And one supporter said at full-time: “Alexis Mac Allister is surely gonna go down as one of the best businesses the club has ever done apart from obviously the king.”

Likewise, the went with an 8 out of 10 rating for Mac Allister after he shone against Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side.
