Liverpool fans want to sign Memphis Depay, after Georginio Wijnaldum posts message

Liverpool star Georginio Wijnaldum has sent a message on social media to his international teammate Memphis Depay – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter have responded to claim they would like to see a reunion at Anfield.

Dutch midfielder Wijnaldum has posted on a message to Lyon attacker and captain Depay, who has had a long-term injury absence with a knee injury.

Depay hasn’t played for French club Lyon since December 2019, but had scored 14 goals in just 19 games prior to that in the season during a great run of goalscoring form.

The 26-year-old is an ex-Manchester United player that didn’t quite have the big success in English football that he was tipped for, but he’s been linked with a possible return to the Premier League this summer.

has claimed that he is attracting the interest of Arsenal, as they are not guaranteed about the futures of Alexander Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Depay is a versatile attacker that can play as a centre-forward or a winger and the speed machine has improved since his last spell in England.

A selection of Liverpool supporters on social media have urged the club to try sign Depay and believe he could add something to their squad.
