Liverpool fans want Naby Keita to start against Ajax in Champions League clash

Liverpool supporters are still hurting at the news that Virgil van Dijk will be missing for several months – but the Reds faithful are hoping to see Naby Keita play against Ajax.

The Dutchman was injured by Jordan Pickford’s woefully mistimed tackle in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Everton and now needs surgery to repair an injured ACL.

He will be replaced in the team and provided Joel Matip shakes off his injury issue, he will likely replace Joe Gomez at the heart of the back four.

Thiago picked up a small injury during the contest too, after a robust challenge from Richarlison which saw the Brazilian dismissed.

The summer signing could make it in time to face Ajax; although supporters are hoping to see Keita make a return to action instead.

Many think that Jurgen Klopp would be better off saving Thiago for future endeavours, with Keita being utilised against the Dutch champions.

The 25-year-old has failed to pin down a regular place since checking in at Liverpool, with injuries hampering his progress.

His luck had seemingly changed somewhat this season though; with Keita staying fit to start the first four games of the campaign.

Liverpool fans were gutted to see the man miss out on Saturday and plenty hope he returns tomorrow night.
