Liverpool fans want Divock Origi to start against Red Bull Salzburg

Liverpool travel to German club Red Bull Salzburg on Tuesday evening for a huge European fixture – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter have urged manager Jurgen Klopp to recall striker Divock Origi to the starting XI.

The Reds face Salzburg in the final match of their Champions League group stage, which is still evenly poised and a defeat is likely to see them miss out on the knockout rounds.

The Merseyside giants will progress if they avoid defeat and are looking to defend their Champions League crown, but their opponents are a dangerous attacking side.

Despite Liverpool’s dominance domestically this season, they have found it a little tougher on the European stage and an exit from the Champions League would be a big shock.

A selection of Liverpool supporters on social media have suggested that Origi should be recalled in midweek.

The 24-year-old watched from the bench the team’s 3-0 away win at Bournemouth over the weekend, but Klopp has rotated his squad well in recent games.

Origi played in the previous fixture, which was when he scored two goals in the Merseyside derby win over Everton.

The Belgian centre-forward has had a knack for scoring big goals during his Anfield career and some fans feel he could be perfect for the Salzburg tie.
