Liverpool fans stunned by France player’s performance, despite Euro 2020 exit to Switzerland
Switzerland produced the shock of Euro 2020 so far on Monday as they won on penalties to knock France out. The French were the competition’s favourites, but the Swiss came back from 3-1 down to then win on penalties. Liverpool fans, though, were impressed with Kingsley Coman’s cameo role.
Switzerland took the lead. Haris Seferovic opened the scoring, but moments after a missed penalty from Ricardo Rodriguez – Karim Benzema scored a sublime brace. Paul Pogba then scored the goal of the game with a delicious curling effort from 25 yards. But the Swiss were not done just yet.
At 3-1, it looked as if France would progress and meet Spain in the quarter-finals. But Seferovic scored again with a header, before substitute Mario Gavranovic netted. The game went to penalties and with Kylian Mbappe needing to score, he fluffed his lines. Switzerland beat France, in France.

Coman, 25, came on at half-time for Clement Lenglet and immediately impressed. The Bayern Munich man’s turn of pace was excellent, gliding past Swiss players with ease. His future at club level is uncertain, with the World Cup winner entering the last 12 months of his current deal.
