Liverpool fans rip into ‘dreadful’ Xherdan Shaqiri after draw v Leicester
Liverpool were held to a draw against Leicester City on Wednesday night – and some of the club’s supporters were not pleased on Twitter with his performance.
The Reds opened up a five-point gap over second-placed Manchester City in the Premier League, but may feel it was two points dropped after drawing at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp’s side saw a goal from Leicester centre-back Harry Maguire cancel out Sadio Mane’s early opener.
The Merseyside club have been a fluent attacking side for most of the campaign and defensively resilient, something that has helped them climb to the top of the league table.
But there were below their usual standards in midweek and will hope to bounce back away to West Ham next Monday.

A selection of Liverpool fans were particularly frustrated with Shaqiri, who formed part of a midfield trio against Leicester.
The Switzerland international lasted 67 minutes before he was substituted off and was unable to provide the spark going forward.
Shaqiri, 27, has been a great summer addition with six goals and three assists to his name already this season across all competitions.
But many Liverpool fans are convinced he’s better coming off the bench and that Leicester was a case of that.
Here are some of the Liverpool fans on Shaqiri:
Shaqiri looks lost out there

Shaqiri can’t seem to get into game, but these conditions are making it tough for most.
— Evan T (@Liverpool_NYC)
Shaqiri has caught the infamous Liverpool ‘firstmanitus’ every person that joins that takes corners can’t hit a one past the first man.
— Graeme Kelly (@GraemeKelly1)
Shaqiri is not half as good when he starts as when he comes on
— Isak (@IsakLFC)
Shaqiri’s been dreadful
— Erik (@EriikLFC)
Shaqiri needs to start on the bench. Please Kopp, return to this strategy. It’s not that he doesn’t play well when he starts. It’s more that he is extremely effective when used an an impact sub. When he starts there is no one on the bench to bring on!!

Just don’t play Shaqiri in the midfield again, we lost our balance
