Liverpool fans react to Simon Mignolet departure to join Club Brugge
Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has left Liverpool to return to his native Belgium and join Club Brugge,
They that Mignolet has signed a five-year deal with his new club, having been a substitute for the Community Shield defeat against reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.
The that the fee is 7 million euros (£6.4 million) but could raise to 9 million euros (£8.4 million) if add-ons are met – which is something of a bargain in the current market.
Liverpool are yet to make a serious signing this summer but look likely to change that fact now as they enter the market for an experienced backup goalkeeper following Mignolet’s departure.

Some supporters were simply keen to wish Mignolet well, understanding that two seasons on the bench would have been a bit much for a goalkeeper of his age and experience.
But others were concerned about their side’s squad going into the new season, unsure who they’re going to sign to replace Mignolet and worried about Alisson getting an injury.
It remains to be seen who will come in, but Mignolet recovered a shaky spell at Anfield with his professionalism last season and will be missed now…

honestly, what number 2 are we going to get that's as good as him? It's a small fee too. We're not going to get someone at the same calibre at around that fee. Need to go after that big attacking player too.

Imagine no Migs and Alisson misses a game or two, who plays in goal?

Weird. I was thinking about Mignolet earlier. I don't think anyone would be happy with 2 full seasons on the bench.
Would also think it will be tough to fill that role with quality

Wish we’d have known earlier….would’ve been nice to have given him a decent send off at Wembley.
Good luck 👍👍👍— Top of the Klopps 19🖐👍 (@FootyReady)
Can this day get any worse?
