Liverpool fans react to Naby Keita performance against Genk
Liverpool overcame a plucky young Genk side to claim a 4-1 win in the Champions League tonight.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be the one making the headlines after the game. His brace secured the win for Liverpool, with a special second goal with the outside of his right boot the highlight. Sadio Mane’s chipped effort and Mo Salah’s calm finish put the Reeds 4-0 up. Substitute Stephen Odey secured the consolation goal for the Belgians.
There were several top performances from the usual suspects for Jurgen Klopp but Naby Keita has certainly impressed some Liverpool fans.
The Guinean has been struggling for regular football at Liverpool so far this season. An injury hindered his progress and this was a rare start for the former RB Leipzig star.

Liverpool are still to see the best from their£52.75 million signing. But tonight he showed glimpses of what he can offer, especially in attack.
Keita’s transition play was superb throughout the game, moving the ball fast and forward to keep Liverpool ticking over in attack.
His pass in the build-up to Oxlade-Chamberlain’s sublime second goal certainly demonstrated the range of his ability.
It was not a perfect display. Defensively, Keita was often found a little out of touch. However, considering his lack of minutes this season that is to be expected. But the signs are good that the midfielder has what it takes to play a big role for Liverpool throughout a gruelling season in Europe and at home.
Keita has had a good game today! Very tidy!

Keïta is everywhere. Breaking up play, consistently probing and recycling the play… gonna be awesome….

We’ve looked so much better going forward because Keita and Ox have improved our transitions

Keita’s constant recycling of possession & probing forward passes has been a big influence. He demands the ball and uses it when given it. A real metronome. Nothing flashy or eye catching (yet) but just what was needed.

I’ll say this Keita is very good at keeping the ball he has been invoked in build up of both goals and in all good attacking player

Keita absolutely excellent. Always wants the ball and is always positive with it. If he can get a clear run of games he’ll be a serious player for as the season goes on.

Love Keita, in our best midfield three for me
