Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Nat Phillips’s display at Burnley
A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to laud Nat Phillips after the defender produced a superb display as the Reds secured another priceless win.
Jurgen Klopp’s men went into their penultimate game of the season knowing that two wins would be enough to make it into the top four.

And they went on to produce a good win away at Burnley. It was Phillips who scored the crucial second goal as Liverpool left Turf Moor with a 3-0 victory.
The 24-year-old deserved his goal after another impressive display. It was his first in the Premier League.

Opposition centre-backs are rarely given an easy time against the Clarets. But Phillips stood up to the challenge superbly. He also produced a goalline clearance during the second-half after Alisson had been beaten.
It is remarkable just how many headers the defender wins. Unsurprisingly, no player on either side won a greater number of aerial duels (via ). He also made a number of clearances.
Phillips deserves huge credit for the way he has improved as the campaign has gone on. Obviously, it has been an incredibly difficult year for Liverpool given the number of key men they have lost to injury.
‘What a player’
And while he may not be a first-choice when Klopp has everyone fit, it does appear that many Liverpool fans believe that he definitely has a role to play beyond this season.
With that in mind, here is how some of the Liverpool fans reacted to Phillips’s performance…
Nothing against Ozan and he’s done well but I’m sorry, Nat Phillips has to be a part of this squad moving forward. That’s just that. You get what you deserve, and he richly deserves it
