Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Gini Wijnaldum’s display
A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Georginio Wijnaldum’s display in the 1-0 victory at Tottenham Hotspur that has sent the Reds 16 points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have picked up another big result. Their staggering record now reads 20 victories from 21 games, with no defeats. And with Leicester City losing, the gap to the chasing pack has got even bigger.

There were excellent performances all over the pitch at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. But Wijnaldum appears to have received particular praise from the fans after a brilliant display.
The 29-year-old did so much work for the visitors throughout the game. that he completed five successful dribbles during the win.

In comparison, no other player who started the game managed more than three. Meanwhile, he completed 78 successful passes from the 84 he attempted.
And it has been suggested by a number of Liverpool fans on social media that Wijnaldum is simply irreplaceable right now.
Plenty are adamant that no-one would be capable of doing the role that he does any better. And it is hard to argue as Liverpool seemingly stroll towards their first Premier League title.
One fan even suggested that the Netherlands international may go down as one of the club’s best ever signings. Given the Reds’ history, that is a remarkable statement.
Here is what some of the supporters made of Wijnaldum’s performance…
Alisson and Wijnaldum were magnificent last night. Can’t really pick between the two as to who was MOTM.

How good was Gini Wijnaldum today, absolute workhorse. A dream to play beside I’d imagine.

Gini Wijnaldum though. Flies under the radar week in, week out but was unbelievable again today (apart from losing possession deep in our half). Got a bit of everything in the locker has our Gini. Love you mate.

There is not one player in the world we could buy right now who would do what Wijnaldum does for us week in week out.

Apart from a couple of loose defensive passes I thought we were excellent on the ball today. Our midfield dominated the game, Wijnaldum was absolutely brilliant. We looked so confident we would win it.
