Liverpool fans react on Twitter over reports over Gini Wijnaldum contract situation
Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum is still waiting for the club to offer him a new contract as he enters the last 12 months of his existing deal.
the 29-year-old’s representatives are still awaiting an offer form the club regarding fresh terms.
Wijnaldum joined Liverpool in 2016 from Newcastle United, costing the Reds £25 million and it’s fair to say he’s been a useful addition.
During his four years at the club, Liverpool have reached two Champions League finals and also won the Premier League.
He has been a vital component of Jurgen Klopp’s engine room, scoring 19 goals and registering 16 assists during his 186 appearances for the Reds.

Supporters are getting somewhat uneasy over the situation, although it seems some aren’t too fussed whether he does leave or not.
The majority are simply hopeful that the club can get the very best deal for the player if they were forced into a sale this summer.
The length of the contract might well be the issue. With Wijnaldum 29, he might want the luxury of one final long-term deal and Liverpool might not be happy with that.
With that in mind, we looked at what supporters were saying about these latest reports regarding the player.
I honestly like Wijnaldun but he's dragging this contract issue too far. He needs to sign the contract or leave for other players to come in.

Gini is so underrated as a player will be a shame to see the lad go but at 30 we do also need to plan for the future. I can see him stopping and seeing out his contract but also be a 100% committed

If he doesn’t sign has to be sold ,can’t lose him for free next summer . Bayern stated they will not lose Thiago for free next summer hence selling now .

Simple. Sign extension or sell. No ifs no buts no coconuts. Love him and what he has done for club. Legendary for Barca game alone but no one above club and sentiment

Hope he stay. Play an important role to help us secure the champions league.

I would do the exact same. Let Gini leave on a free … too valuable
