Liverpool fans react as Rhys Williams misses England under-21 clash
Liverpool defender Rhys Williams was left out of the England under-21 squad to face Albania last night with some reports suggesting some muscle tightness for the Reds talent.
Aidy Boothroyd’s team beat the minnows 5-0 but after the game, the topic on the lips of Liverpool supporters was the fitness of their talented central defender.
Williams has stepped into the breach this season after Virgil van Dijk picked up an unfortunate injury against Everton last month.
The youngster has looked decent when called upon and it looks as though his withdrawal last night was nothing more than a precaution.

Williams, 19, was playing in the National League North on loan at Kidderminster last season and his stock has risen significantly during 2020/21.
The central defender is yet to make a Premier League appearance for Liverpool but he has played three times in the Champions League.
Williams could be thrust into the spotlight this weekend, however, with Joe Gomez joining Van Dijk in the treatment room.
Liverpool fans were pretty happy to hear Williams’ absence from the England under-21 team was nothing more than a precaution.
Meanwhile, some supporters are uncertain whether he might actually be injured and be missing for the game against Leicester this weekend.
Here is what Liverpool supporters were saying about the youngster.
Good!
Every Liverpool defender should be wrapped in bubble wrap for the next 2 months when not playing.
