Liverpool fans react as report claims midfielder ‘ready to leave’ Anfield
Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita is reportedly ‘ready to leave’ Liverpool this summer after a difficult campaign in which he has only played 18 times in all competitions – and Reds fans have responded on Twitter.
Keita, 25, joined the Reds for a whopping £58million after having a hand in 32 goals during 71 RB Leipzig appearances. However, in his two seasons at Anfield, he has only played 51 times for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The Mali skipper has struggled with both a number of niggling injuries and the intense competition in midfield – failing to overcome the likes of Gini Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Now, he is on the firing list. They claim that Keita is open to leaving Liverpool in the coming months, and Liverpool have already lined-up his replacement in the form of Wolves ace Ruben Neves.
The report claims numerous Bundesliga sides are keen on bringing him back to Germany, while Milan are keen on signing him for the Serie A club. He has a £120,000-a-week () contract at Anfield until the summer of 2023.
Many Liverpool fans have responded to the reported news that Keita is looking for a way out of Anfield this summer, and some are open to seeing the back of the African ace – as long as a replacement is brought in.
They can have him, just need to get Grealish / Maddison as replacement, maybe another deeper lying CM as well sometime soon…💁🏻♂️
