Liverpool fans react as Neco Williams is left out of U21 match
Liverpool fans believe that Jurgen Klopp dropped an inadvertent selection hint last night.
Several young players, including Neco Williams, were not included as Liverpool’s U21 team played Accrington Stanley. Could Williams now be set to make his first-team debut tonight?
Liverpool host Arsenal at Anfield in the fourth round of the EFL Cup tonight. Klopp will probably ring the changes with a host of youngsters hoping for starts.
Williams debut?
In the last round of the tournament, Klopp gave opportunities to several academy starlets. There were outings for Rhian Brewster, Harvey Elliott, Ki-Jana Hoever, Sepp van den Berg, Curtis Jones and Caoimhin Kelleher.
But Hoever is not available because he is at the U17 World Cup with the Netherlands. In turn, this could open a door for Williams. The 18-year-old could make his senior debut tonight against Arsenal in the cup.
