Liverpool fans react as Nathaniel Phillips returns to Stuttgart
Liverpool fans have been reacting to the news that .
The defender was recently recalled by the Reds amid a defensive injury crisis, but is now back with the 2.Bundesliga side to finish off the 2019/20 season.
Phillips played one game after returning to Anfield – against Everton in the FA Cup third round.
He made the bench for Premier League games against Sheffield United and Tottenham Hotspur but didn’t make it onto the pitch in either fixture.
He will now have the chance to add to the 11 appearances he made in the first half of the season.
Phillips had started three of the last four games for Stuttgart, before he suffered a bout of angina just before returning to his parent club.
Currently Stuttgart are third in the table and will be hoping to secure promotion back to the Bundesliga at the end of the season.
Phillips will perhaps be aiming to catch the eye from afar, with Dejan Lovren’s long-term having been speculated over this season.
