Liverpool fans react as Naby Keita gets cameo role in 4-0 win over Wolves

As Liverpool fans returned to Anfield for the first time since the Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid, the Reds treated those in the ground to a 4-0 win over Wolves on Sunday – and fans discussed Naby Keita’s cameo role.

A mistake from Conor Coady – who had an eventful night – saw Liverpool open the scoring. The Wolves captain failed to clear and Mo Salah took full advantage, lashing home an effort under Rui Patricio.

Coady was then awarded a penalty before referee Craig Pawson overturned the decision – with the England defender adjudged to have dived. Jordan Henderson, his Three Lions teammate, was vividly fuming with the Wolves skipper.

It was 2-0 early in the second half. A beautiful ball forward from Henderson found Gini Wijnaldum who curled a delicious effort into the top corner. A Joel Matip header and an own goal secured a brilliant 4-0 win.

Keita, 25, has been in and out of the Reds side due to injury – the latest muscle problem picked up against Leicester has seen him miss matches for the last two to three weeks. But he replaced Jordan Henderson on 81 minutes.

Many Liverpool fans reacted on Twitter to the £53million () star’s brief substitute display against Wolves, in which Caoimhin Kelleher kept a clean sheet. Reds supporters were happy to see Keita.

Some, though, were worried to every time he went into a challenge.
