Liverpool fans react as Emre Can scores wondergoal for Borussia Dortmund

Emre Can got himself on the score sheet in his first start for Borussia Dortmund with a wondergoal from the best part of 30 yards against former side Bayer Leverkusen – and many Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter.

Can, 26, moved to Dortmund after a frustrating spell in Italy with Serie A champions Juventus. Joining the club from Liverpool in the summer of 2018, Can immediately became first choice under the guidance of Max Allegri.

But following the appointment of Maurizio Sarri and the enormous midfield talent at Juve in the likes of Blaise Matuidi, Aaron Ramsey, Miralem Pjanic, Sami Khedira, Adrien Rabiot and Rodrigo Bentancur, Can opted to leave in January.

Despite previously playing for Leverkusen and Bayern Munich, the Germany international moved to Dortmundon a loan-to-buy deal with an option to make the temporary switch permanent in the summer, for £21million

He was handed his first start against former side Leverkusen on Saturday – an excellent match which ended 4-3 to Leverkusen.

A brace from Kevin Volland, and strikes from Leverkusen skipper Lard Bender and substitute Leon Bailey saw Leverkusen outscore Dortmund – who had netted through Can, Raphael Guerreiro and Mats Hummels.

Can’s goal was easily the best of the game, though, and many Liverpool fans reacted on Twitter to the news that he had netted in his first start for Dortmund – after scoring just 10 in 115 appearances for The Reds.
