Liverpool fans react as Coutinho manages substitute appearance against Chelsea

Philippe Coutinho was only used as a substitute as Bayern Munich eased past Chelsea with a 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge in the last 16 of the Champions League – and some Liverpool fans want him to come back to Anfield.

Signed by Brendan Rodgers as somewhat of an unknown from Inter Milan, Coutinho became an icon at Liverpool during his five-year stay. He played 201 times, scoring 54 goals and creating 45 more.

But when Barcelona came calling, Coutinho jumped at the opportunity. He was in the form of his life during the first half of the 2017-18 season having scored 12 goals and created eight more in 20 Liverpool games, before his £142million () move.

However, things have not gone to plan for the 61-time Brazil international. Just 76 appearances for Barcelona and he has already been loaned to Bayern until the end of the season, and even with the German champions, Couitnho is struggling.

Of his 29 outings this season for Bayern, only 19 have come from the start. He has scored seven and created eight, but only goal has come in the Champions League. He managed just 20 minutes against Chelsea, as Serge Gnabry stole the headlines.

Liverpool fans reacted to Coutinho only getting 20 minutes against Chelsea, and indeed looking a shadow of his former self. Many felt sorry for the Brazilian, after seeing him on the bench, and are keen to see him come back to Anfield.
