Most Liverpool fans have the same opinion on Alberto Moreno after cup defeat
Liverpool are out of the League Cup following a defeat to Chelsea at Anfield last night. It seemed Liverpool were heading through thanks to Daniel Sturridge’s acrobatic finish. However, a quickfire double from Emerson and Eden Hazard saw Chelsea claim the win.
Hazard’s goal was certainly special, as he left Liverpool players scrambling before smashing home from the corner of the box.
One of the players he left posterized was Spaniard Alberto Moreno. The left-back was bamboozled by his trickery in a way Liverpool fans feel usual left-back Andrew Robertson might not have been.
Moreno, has become an entirely peripheral figure at Liverpool after a series of poor performances for the club.
But he remains back-up when Robertson needs a rest and came in for the tie at Anfield last night.
On the one hand, it is easy to understand why Moreno might be slightly rusty. This was his first start for Liverpool since April. On the other hand, Liverpool fans have seen this all before from the Spaniard.
Moreno is simply not good enough a back-up to help Liverpool win silverware this season. That was certainly the opinion of most Liverpool fans on Twitter, who have simply had enough…
Well, that should show us how behind our first team the rotation squad are. Moreno is abysmal, definitely not a worthy back-up to Andy Robertson. He’s not up to Liverpool standard. Now, onto Saturday! We are Liverpool! ????

I know its his first game for a long time but someone needs to sit Moreno down and make him watch Andy Robertons performances so far this season. At times when Chelsea attacked tonight he wasnt even in the same postcode, nevermind pitch.
