Liverpool fans on Twitter lament Shaqiri sale.
The versatile Swiss attacking midfielder left Anfield over the summer for Lyon.
Jurgen Klopp allowed him to leave, although no new signings were made in attacking areas.
The fans are now seemingly regretting this, though, as they saw Shaqiri as a viable option in rotation.
It’s clear he’s not a better player than Mo Salah or Sadio Mane.
However, when Klopp opts to rotate, Shaqiri is perfect.
He can play as a number 8 in midfield as well as in wide attacking areas.
In France, Shaqiri has settled well into life at Lyon.
He’s already made five appearances in Ligue 1, scoring and assisting once each ().
As the literal Swiss army-knife turned 30-years-old, his former club took to Twitter to wish him a happy birthday.
This had plenty of Liverpool fans flocking to the replies.

Many of them were quick to wish Shaqiri a happy birthday, whilst others slandered the decision to sell him.
In hindsight, the Reds could do with another body in midfield.
The bright young Harvey Elliott is injured for the foreseeable future, with Curtis Jones and Thiago also have knocks.
Georginio Wijnaldum was also allowed to leave in the summer, leaving the Reds light in midfield.
Shaqiri would certainly be useful at Anfield at the moment.
As the decision was made to allow him to go, it’s now up to Klopp to try and bring in a new face in January.
Someone needs to come in and freshen up the pack at Anfield.
Whether that’s another young academy star of a new signing, it’s clear that the midfield needs a slight refresh.
The fans, though, see nothing wrong with Shaqiri and many wouldn’t have sold him.
What do the fans think?
He’s doing well at Lyon. Shame he didn’t play that much with us.
