Liverpool fans notice ‘special’ player missing from pre-season training, European giant exploring transfer
Liverpool’s 2025 pre-season is underway, but one player was absent from the latest set of photos shared by the club.
As they look to retain their Premier League crown, the Reds have had a very active start to the 2025 summer transfer window.
A record deal for Florian Wirtz was secured, while Trent Alexander-Arnold has been swiftly replaced by Jeremie Frimpong. Milos Kerkez, Armin Pecsi, and Freddie Woodman have arrived at Anfield as well.
Further signings could be forthcoming, with TBR sources sharing an update on Liverpool’s interest in Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak on Wednesday.
While the focus this summer has largely been on potential incomings, however, a few players have been mooted for exits, one of whom fans have noticed was not pictured in the club’s latest pre-season training photos.

Liverpool fans question Alexis Mac Allister absence from training
A report from Spanish outlet this week has said that European heavyweights Real Madrid are exploring the possibility of signing Alexis Mac Allister.
Now, Liverpool fans have taken to the comments section of the club’s Instagram to ask why the Argentine has not been pictured in training.
One fan asked: “Where is Mac Allister?” with another echoing: “Where Macca? I don’t see him.”
“Was wondering where Macca is??” wrote a third Liverpool supporter.
A fourth Reds fan added: “Where’s Mac Allister??” and another responded to the post by writing: “Where is Alexis?”
The report from Spain suggests Liverpool are leaking that they will sell the midfielder for €100m, but Los Blancos are not willing to pay that fee.

Alexis Mac Allister praised for Liverpool Premier League title win
The 26-year-old arrived on Merseyside in 2023, signing from Brighton and Hove Albion.
He featured 35 times in the Premier League last term, scoring five and assisting five en route to the Reds becoming champions for a second time.
Mac Allister earned praise from Gary Lineker for his displays across 2024/25, with the former England international describing him as ‘special’ and one of the club’s ‘unsung heroes’.
He said in April: “You know, perhaps one goes under the radar a little bit as like one of those unsung heroes, if you like, you mentioned him earlier, Mac Allister, I think.
“I mean, what a consistent performer he is. And he’s got a special goal in him. Like what a hit that was as well against Tottenham today.”
