Liverpool fans make Cody Gakpo claim after resounding win over Ipswich
Liverpool retained their six-point lead at the top of the Premier League table after running out 4-1 winners over Ipswich Town on Saturday.
Dominik Szoboszlai opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a clinical low effort from just outside the box.
Liverpool then made it 2-0 in the 35th minute, Mohamed Salah slamming home from point-blank range following Cody Gakpo’s cross.
Gakpo then weighed in with a brace to put the Reds firmly out of reach, his first coming on 44 minutes as he prodded a rebound home.
The Dutchman’s second came in the 66th minute as he headed a superb Trent Alexander-Arnold cross past Christian Walton.
Ipswich managed a late consolation when Jacob Greaves netted from a corner, but Liverpool were always on course for all three points.
Gakpo stood out with his brace and assist, and plenty of Liverpool fans made a claim about him during the match.

Liverpool fans hail ‘underrated’ Cody Gakpo
Liverpool fans reckon Gakpo is one of the most underrated players around, his efforts going under the radar somewhat.
One Reds supporter said on X: “Cody Gakpo is the underrated hero of this Liverpool’s season.
“Very difficult profile to fit in into the 11, yet Slot had managed it masterfully.”
Another wrote: “Gakpo fast staking a claim to be the best LW in the league if he isn’t already, so so underrated as well.”
The praise kept coming, with one fan saying: “Cody Gakpo most underrated player of the season.
“Completely going under the radar, he’s cooking this season.”
Another wrote: “dominant performance from every department controlling the game very well.
“Can’t pick out any stand outs but MOTM has to be Gakpo with the 2 goals and the quality ball for Mo’s goal.
“He’s one of the most underrated players this season in world football. Now onto PSV.”
Another added: “Gakpo is the most underrated footballer around.”
How Gakpo fared against Ipswich
Gakpo impressed in his 68 minutes on the pitch before Darwin Nunez took his place.

As well as his brace and assist, he boasted a pass accuracy of 88 percent and completed two of his three dribble attempts.
Gakpo also won four of his eight ground duels and his one aerial duel, and also chipped in with two tackles.
Gakpo is playing a big role for Liverpool this season and, even though some Reds fans say he’s underrated, he’s certainly getting the rightful praise.
