Liverpool fans love what Jurgen Klopp did in second half, as Reds beat Atletico

It was a comfortable night at Anfield as Liverpool cruised to a 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid – and Reds fans have applauded Jurgen Klopp on Twitter.

The Reds came into the match having already secured nine points from a possible nine. But there was still plenty of hostility riding on the match.

Diego Simeone refused to shake Klopp’s hand in the previous clash, which resulted in a 3-2 win for the Reds. It ended in a very easy win at Anfield.

Trent Alexander-Arnold got both assists for Liverpool, the first – crossing perfectly for Diogo Jota to head into the back of the net from close range.

A second came pretty soon after. It might have been a cross, or a shot, from the England international – but Sadio Mane read it, tapping home.

Felipe was somewhat surprisingly sent off for what many deemed to be an obvious yellow. The foul on Mane, though, was enough for a red card.

An easy win, then. Klopp used the second 45 to give gave time to some of his fringe players – including Divock Origi, Takumi Minamino and Nat Phillips.

What are Liverpool fans saying about Klopp and Fabinho sub?

Indeed, on 60 minutes, Klopp also brought on Thiago – replacing £39m () Fabinho in order to give the Brazil international some much-needed rest.

Fabinho has been a regular, one of the first names on the team sheet and the rest will have been welcomed. Liverpool fans applauded Klopp.

One fan was even surprised at Liverpool manager Klopp’s substitutions, suggesting that he does not normally get them right.
