Liverpool fans impressed as Sheyi Ojo scores debut goal for Rangers

Sheyi Ojo got his Rangers spell off to a flyer on Tuesday night with a debut goal in his first competitive start as the Gers eased past St. Joseph’s – and Liverpool fans reacted to the attacker’s performance on Twitter.

Rangers secured a comfortable 4-0 win over St. Joseph’s away in Gibraltar, with Ojo the pick of the players. His pace, ability to turn when receiving the ball and direct approach caused the part-time opponents difficulty throughout.

Ryan Jack opened the scoring, as he get on the end of a Borna Barisic cross to volley home from 10 yards. Ojo, 22,  then made it two, bursting into the box and curling an excellent effort round the goalkeeper.

Barisic then got his name on the score sheet, curling in a free-kick that hit the post and crossed the line, before Alfredo Morelos came off the bench to get his season up and running – bundling the ball home from close range.

Ojo is one of seven new signings at Rangers this summer, as Steven Gerrard used his connections at Liverpool once again to lure the England youth international north of the border and it already seems a match made in heaven.

Liverpool fans reacted to Ojo’s Tweet after the match, with the Rangers loanee showing his delight by posting a picture of him scoring – and Reds fans reacted to the Tweet, congratulating their young star.
