Liverpool fans discuss Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain display as Reds lose to Hertha Berlin
🌱Liverpool suffered a 4-3 defeat to German Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin on Thursday evening in a topsy-turvy match in Austria. Jurgen Klopp fielded a side that was completely changed, all 11 players, by the full-time whistle. Liverpool fans applauded the cameo role of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
🏅The Reds got off to a poor start as Hertha raced to a 2-0 lead in the first 30 minutes. Argentine Santiago Ascacibar got the first, before Suat Serdar got a second on 30 minutes. However, Liverpool came roaring back to draw level before the half-time whistle – thanks to Sadio Mane and Takumi Minamino.
What are Liverpool fans saying about Oxlade-Chamberlain and his display?
ཧBut new Hertha signing Stefan Jovetic – once of Manchester City of course – stole the show. Coming on after 61 minutes, he scored twice in the space of 14 minutes to restore Hertha’s lead. It was 4-3 when substitute Oxlade-Chamberlain netted on 88 minutes – but it was not enough as Hertha won.
Oxlade-Chamberlain – 𒅌who is being linked with a move to West Ham United at the moment𒐪 – played the entire second half and looked sharp. Reports of him playing as a false nine could have gained strength after the £120k-a-week () star’s goal. Liverpool fans raved about him on Twitter.
🔴Especially, after his goal. A well-taken volley after a spot of pingball in the Hertha box – lashing home from the best part of 12 yards [above].
