Liverpool fans delighted after spotting a ‘genius’ detail in Jarell Quansah’s £35m move to Bayer Leverkusen
Liverpool continue to be active in the summer transfer window, having already signed two players.
The Reds announced the signing of Jeremie Frimpong earlier in the window. And on Friday, Liverpool officially announced Florian Wirtz as well, signing him for a British record 117m deal.
And having signed two players from Bayer Leverkusen, they are now set to sell one of their own players to the German club.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Leverkusen have agreed a deal with Liverpool for Jarell Quansah.

Liverpool fans react to genius move from Richard Hughes in Jarell Quansah deal
Leverkusen will pay the Reds a £30 million fee plus £5 million in add-ons.
It is an exceptional deal, given that Liverpool will be earning pure profit on the academy graduate.
They have also included a buy-back clause in the deal to retain future control over Quansah’s career, a key detail in the deal that has left fans delighted on social media.
One fan branded it a genius move by Richard Hughes: “Buyback clause is a genius move. Love that from our people.”
Another said: “With a buy-back clause?.. absolutely a very good deal.”
A third said that Liverpool are clear of others in terms of transfer business this summer: “Buy-back clause as well? Liverpool are so clear right now.”
A fourth said: “This is a good deal, and I love the buy-back clause. All the best to Jarell.”
One fan suggested that this deal makes the Florian Wirtz deal look even better given that they have recouped £35m from the German club already.
Some felt that selling him could be a mistake, especially given Ibrahima Konate’s uncertain future at Liverpool, stating: “Not going to lie, this one makes me kinda sad. I think he could be a regular starter for us. If Konate leaves, he’s the best fit next to Van Dijk…Kinda think it’s a mistake, tbh.”
Another asked: “Who’s the backup centre-half now?”
“We need to sign another centre-back now”, one more said.
Liverpool are linked with Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi as replacement
Liverpool could find themselves in a sticky situation in defence if Konate also leaves the club this month.
With him yet to sign a new contract, there is a possibility that the club will look to cash in on him this summer if they fail to reach an agreement over a new contract.
Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi has emerged as a Liverpool target, with the Reds strongly targeting him as a replacement for Quansah.
However, with his current contract expiring next summer and Guehi not looking to sign a new contract, Liverpool could hold off until next summer, unless Palace are willing to negotiate at a reasonable price in the ongoing window.
