Liverpool fans baffled at reports regarding Florian Neuhaus

has claimed that Liverpool were offered the chance to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus this summer. Apparently, Jurgen Klopp was the one who declined the chance to sign the 24-year-old.

The stylish midfielder has also been linked with a move to Manchester City previously. Liverpool could have signed the Bundesliga star for just £21 million but the club opted not to land the player.

Klopp saw Gini Wijnaldum leave his squad in the summer. As a result, it seemed certain that the club would look to add to their midfield ranks. A signing never came though and the Reds boss has so far called upon Harvey Elliott to add a new dynamic to the engine room.

Neuhaus has become a real hit at Monchengladbach. He has scored 16 goals and registered 20 assists during 120 appearances for the club. As a result, he’s attracted interest from across Europe.

The midfielder has a contract with the Bundesliga outfit until 2024. Given that he was offered out, however, perhaps suggests that Monchengladbach are prepared to offload the player in the near future.

Neuhaus has been capped six times for Germany, scoring twice. His modest wage would comfortably fit into the structure at Anfield and Klopp’s decision might leave supporters baffled.

What have Liverpool fans said about Klopp’s decision over Neuhaus?

It seems as though plenty are baffled. It seems unthinkable that Liverpool didn’t sign such a bright talent when he was available at such a bargain price.

The Reds might have missed a trick and Neuhaus is bound to have more suitors the longer he stays with Borussia Monchengladbach.

Liverpool fans desperately wanted a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum signing and many clearly think Neuhaus would have been perfect.

Here is what they had to say on Twitter as reports claim Klopp turned down the chance to sign the German star.
