Liverpool fans are all saying the same thing about Diogo Jota after his winner in Merseyside derby win over Everton

Liverpool have made it 100 victories over Everton as they ran out 1-0 winners against the Toffees in their Premier League Merseyside derby on Wednesday night.

Liverpool rode th💛eir luck at times as the Toffees fashioned the most dangerous chance of the fi𝔉rst half, with Beto going through on goal and seeing his effort bounce back off the post.

There were moments of controversy too, with James Tarkowski’s foul on Alexis Mac Allister angering many in 🌌the Liverpool stands and camp.

The atmosphere at Anfie💃ld became🃏 increasingly tense after the break, with neither side off the mark, but relief came in the form of a player breaking his goal drought.

In the 57th minute, Diogo Jota weaved his way into the box past two challenges and drilled a low finish past Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pꦉickford.

Liverpool fans had plenty to say about Jota in w🍨ake of his 🔯derby winner, which was his first goal in 11 appearances spanning two-and-a-half months.

Liverpool fans admit Diogo Jota proved them wrong

A nu🌼mber of Liverpool𝓀 supporters admitted that Jota had proven them wrong, as they were not happy to see him in the starting XI initially.

One Reds fan wrote on X: “Well done Jota proving me wrong but — our attack looks a shadow of itself over 𒈔the past month or so.

Another said: “I lo✱ve being proven wrong in that way. I wanted Jota off half time, he responds with a classic Jota the Slotter goal.”

The praise kept coming, with one supporter saying: “Thank you Jota for proving ♌me wro🍌ng. Hope to see you score goal/s every game till end of season.”

Another wrote: “Whoaaa Jota. FC25 goal that was! Fair play for proving many of us wrong.💮”

Another saidﷺ: “Fair play to Diaz and Jota. Both of them played the derby with a point to prove.”

How Diogo Jota performed against Everton

Goal aside, Jota delivered a solid display overall and proved 🔯to be the difference-maker in such a crucial and tense ဣgame.

The 🥂£42million man tr༒ied his luck with several efforts, three of which were blocked and one which was off target.

Jota also made one key pass, won four of his seven ground🍃 duels, and chipped in with three tackles and a clearancܫe too.

It’s never nice when players go through con﷽fidence-sapping goal droughts, but Jota ended his in one of the biggest games of the season.
