Liverpool fans angered as Reds 22-year-old is linked with loan exit
Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is being linked with a possible loan move – and some Reds fans on Twitter are not happy with the transfer speculation.
, the 22-year-old may be heading for a loan next season.
It is explained that Adrian is close to agreeing a new contract. As a result, he would become the understudy again to Liverpool’s first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker.
The report details this could lead to the temporary exit of Kelleher because they want him to get more first-team minutes.
Kelleher, who has been at Anfield since 2015, is a talented young shot-stopper with massive potential and his development may now continue elsewhere.
The Irishman made five senior appearances across all competitions this campaign and he even leapfrogged Adrian in the pecking order to become second choice.
However, it seems like he will be loaned out next year. It will be his first spell away from Liverpool so potentially a big step in his career.

Clubs should be queuing up for Liverpool youngster Kelleher
If you look at how Kelleher’s performed during his brief time in the Liverpool first team, he’s not looked out of place in the slightest.
He’s a confident goalkeeper who’s great with his hands and can play out from the back confidently like so many modern day number ones. Additionally, he looks mature beyond his years at the age of 22.
A loan move to a Championship club could be a great avenue if there are suitors. Harvey Elliott has been a shining example this season of how effective the loan system can be because he’s been a shining light at Blackburn Rovers.
Alisson currently stands in the way of Kelleher’s path into the first team.
However, a selection of Liverpool supporters on social media would rather he stays to act as Alisson’s direct understudy. It will be interesting to see where he is when the 2021/22 season begins.
