Liverpool face stiff competition over Aouar as Barcelona enter the race
Barcelona have joined the race for Lyon’s hugely promising midfielder Houssem Aouar,
Aouar starred as the Ligue 1 outfit held the Spanish champions to a 0-0 draw in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 clash on Tuesday night and that has convinced the Catalans to show an interest in his services.
that Aouar would be keen on the move as he idolised Xavi and Andres Iniesta but Liverpool were credited by as being keen admirers of Aouar.
Jurgen Klopp spent big on his midfield in the summer with the arrivals of Naby Keita, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri but still is yet to replace Philippe Coutinho properly.

Coutinho of course joined Barcelona last January but it is perhaps an indication of that move not exactly going as planned that the Spanish giants are already in the market for another midfielder.
They have now seen him up close and like what they see, but he would add a bit more flair to a Liverpool midfield that is extraordinarily high on energy but has lacked a genuine deeper playmaker since Coutinho’s departure.
Liverpool lost out to Barcelona over Coutinho and it would be a blow if they did so again over a player who could conceivably replace the Brazilian at the Nou Camp.
