Liverpool set sights on Nathan Zeze
The player in question is Nantes gem Nathan Zeze, a 19-year-old defender who made his breakthrough at the French club last season.
According to , Liverpool and Aston Villa are among ‘many English clubs’ who have set their sights on the 6ft 3in ace.
Nantes have reportedly placed a €20million (£17million) price tag on Zeze, and they will ‘undoubtedly be listening’ to offers for him.
Who is Liverpool target Nathan Zeze?
Nathan Zeze was born in Nantes on 18 June 2005 and has risen through the ranks at his hometown club.
The teenager earned promotion to the first-team a year ago and has made 18 competitive appearances to date for the Canaries.
Zeze has played the full 90 minutes in both of Nantes’ Ligue 1 games this season, having formed a solid partnership at the back alongside Jean-Charles Castelletto.
Antoine Kombouare’s charges are yet to concede this season following a goalless draw at Toulouse and a 2-0 home win against Auxerre.
As per , Zeze is considered one of the best prospects in the French top flight, and is good at reading the game and tackling.
The reported Liverpool target has also been linked with Serie A side Inter Milan.
Zeze’s agent Phi Hung Ta Van told FcIn, via CM: “He is currently under contract with Nantes, but he is one of the young players with the greatest potential in all of Europe, so many teams are following him.
“I have spoken to many clubs. The Nerazzurri are certainly one of the best in the world, so it is always an honour when a club like that is interested in you.”
