‘Really interesting’: Romano says Liverpool are looking to sign £25m PL player who nearly joined Chelsea
Liverpool are said to be exploring the possibility of signing Leeds United winger Raphinha this summer, with the Brazilian potentially being available for just £25m.
That’s according to the respected journalist and transfer specialist, Fabrizio Romano, who was speaking to Rio . Speaking about a number of transfer rumours, Romano commented on Raphinha and how he is a wanted man.

Romano confirmed that Liverpool are tracking Raphinha. And, more interestingly, if Leeds do go down, then the South American could leave for just £25m.
“In case Leeds are relegated to the Championship, there will be some really interesting clauses for Raphinha,” Romano commented.
“It’s around £25m, so it could be a big opportunity on the market. Liverpool are exploring this possibility. And let me just add, Chelsea were at the front of the queue for Raphinha in the January window.”
Raphinha is valued much higher than that by Leeds. Indeed, it was only last year that the figure of £60m was been banded about.
TBR’s View: £25m For Raphinha Would Just Sum Liverpool Up
The Reds’ transfer business in recent times has been nothing short of remarkable and if they landed Raphinha for such a small fee, it would just about sum up Michael Edwards’ tenure.
Raphinha is worth far, far more than that. His ability on the wing isn’t matched by too many in the Premier League and with the future of Mo Salah up in the air still, he’d be a strong signing for Liverpool.
If Liverpool pull this off and Leeds do go down, then it will be a remarkable piece of business by the Reds.
