Liverpool: Defender could return; offer for Sakho; forward’s agent speaks out

Young defender Jon Flanagan could be on his way back to Anfield sooner than expected as Burnley manager Sean Dyche confirmed that the club are monitoring the full-backs situation as he :

“Football’s changed, it’s not just on the pitch now, there’s lots of different management things you need to look at and monitoring their contractual situation. Whether it’s a loan player, a player under contract or your contract needs extending, there’s a lot more that goes on than just people think. We’ll monitor [Flanagan’s] situation and him with us, there’s always their angle as well, it’s not just mine.”

The loan was intended to give the 24-year-old regular first team football to rebuild his fitness after a long spell on the sidelines, but he has managed just five appearances for the Turf Moor side and not even made the matchday squad for their past two fixtures.

Another man frozen out could soon find his escape as  claim that Galatasaray are preparing to offer £850,000 to take Mamadou Sakho on loan for the rest of the season as the Frenchman seeks an exit having been isolated and left in the under 23s side after ill discipline in the summer.

Jurgen Klopp has made it clear that Sakho has no future on Merseyside, but the club are believed to prepare a permanent sale and may not wish to take the risk of loaning him out until the summer with a further three years left on his contract beyond that.

After speculation linking Red Bull Leipzig winger Emil Forsberg with a move to Liverpool, his agent Hasan Cetinkaya fueled speculation by telling :

“RB [Leipzig] is on the way to becoming a big club… Nevertheless, I cannot promise that Emil will stay in Leipzig this winter.”

The Swede has excelled in the Bundesliga and could well become an exciting option to offer competition and alternatives for Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane out wide.
