Liverpool could face a fired up Abdoulaye Doucoure on Saturday

Liverpool take on Watford at Vicarage Road in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Reds will be seeking three more points as they try to keep pace with league leaders Manchester City.

It’s been a solid start from Jurgen Klopp’s team so far, having not lost a single game in 12 matches.

Liverpool’s recent form at the home of Watford though has been patchy, and they could be in for a tough afternoon in London.

Watford are in good form, and possess some dangerous players like Gerard Deulofeu and Roberto Pereyra.

Another star they should be looking out for though is Abdoulaye Doucoure, who would like nothing more than to shine against a team he’s been very complimentary about.

‘It would be a dream’

Doucoure became linked with Liverpool earlier this year after a great 2017/18 campaign with the Hornets.

The box-to-box midfielder declared that a move to Anfield was something he’d always thought about.

He said, : “Liverpool is a club that needs no introduction. I was impatient to play at Anfield, I wanted to feel the atmosphere.

“For me it would be a dream to play for a club like this.”

A fired up Doucoure?

Liverpool must have their wits about them over the Frenchman on Saturday.

Doucoure, an £8 million signing from Rennes (), will surely still harbour the same feelings towards the club, and perhaps treat the occasion as an audition.

He’ll be keen to catch Jurgen Klopp’s eye, knowing that James Milner won’t be around forever.

The Reds will need to ensure that he isn’t allowed to storm forward, meaning Gini Wijnaldum could have an important role to play at Vicarage Road.
