Liverpool coach Pep Lijnders raves over young hotshot Rhian Brewster
Liverpool coach Pep Lijnders has been singing the praises of young Red Rhian Brewster ahead of tonight’s EFL Cup trip to play Milton Keynes Dons.
As per , the coach praised Brewster’s all-round game and is clearly a fan, despite the fact he is still waiting for his first minutes of 2019/20.
He : “I was his coach when he came from Chelsea [as a 15-year-old]. That he is already on the bench away at Chelsea, for me, is massive. It makes us all proud. He is a player who is every time more ready.
“He had a long injury it was not that easy for him. But he has goals in him, he has technique, good physically. He is a complete striker, a typical nine who can come first post, score with his head, turn in the box, play one-on-one, can score a scruffy goal as well, unbelievable shot. And a good boy. But let’s see.”

TBR’s View – Liverpool have put a lot of faith in Brewster but he has the talent to repay the club
Brewster is essentially Liverpool’s replacement for Daniel Sturridge, a seasoned Premier League striker who is one of the most natural talents England has produced up front in a generation.
That puts pressure on him to take up the mantle and he has the quality to pull it off; he just needs gametime.
A lack of opportunity – especially now that Divock Origi has stepped up to the plate – may be his main barrier to getting over that injury blow.
He is such an exciting talent and is every bit as good as Eddie Nketiah, who is currently shining at Leeds, and Manchester United’s next hope Mason Greenwood. He just needs games.
