Liverpool are battling Real Madrid for the signature of ‘world class’ midfielder who’s just gone out of Euro 2024

According to a recent report, Liverpool and Real Madrid are going head to head for the signing of a world-class player this summer transfer window.

The Merseysiders have made a slow start to the summer transfer window but with Arne Slot now in post and Euro 2024 coming to an end, business is expected to ramp up.

Slot will be eager to make his own imprint on the squad as he looks to add new profiles in the market to align with his style of play.

With that said, Liverpool are keen on signing a midfielder who’s just excited Euro 2024.

Liverpool want Adrien Rabiot

According to , via , Liverpool are set to do battle with Real Madrid for the signature of Adrien Rabiot, who has been labelled as ‘world class’ per .

The France international is a free agent after his Juventus contract expired and there is expected to be a lot of movement over the next few days on the deal after his side crashed out of Euro 2024 to Spain on Tuesday evening.

Bayern Munich are also keen on the 29-year-old, who made 35 appearances for Juve last term, netting five times whilst laying on three assists.

Slot is desperate to add a midfielder to his ranks this summer and Rabiot is among their shortlist along with two other reported targets.

Liverpool also eye Ederson and Teun Koopmeiners

As well as Rabiot, Liverpool are also looking at Atalanta’s midfielder Ederson and have already held several meetings with the Brazilian.

His midfield partner Teun Koopmeiners is another name believed to be on The Reds’ shortlist, though, no bid has been made for either at this stage.

A telling few weeks lie ahead with pre-season fixtures on the horizon.
