Report: Andy Lonergan and Rangers loanee set to be released by Liverpool
A report by the has claimed that goalkeeper Andy Lonergan and winger Sheyi Ojo will leave Liverpool during the summer.
Lonergan signed in the summer of 2019 on a short-term measure after an injury to Alisson Becker. He was handed a one-year deal which will expire at the end of the season.
Ojo is currently on loan at Rangers and his performances in Scotland might tempt former Reds midfielder Steven Gerrard into snapping up the 22-year-old on a permanent basis.

Lonergan’s departure will free up space for a new third-choice goalkeeper to come into Jurgen Klopp’s ranks.
Caoimhin Kelleher has made his first-team debut during the current campaign and he would be favourite for that position.
Whilst Lonergan’s departure perhaps won’t be a surprise; a departure for Ojo is interesting.
The winger has played 36 times in all competitions for the Light Blues this season, registering five assists.
Ojo is out of contract in the summer and could essentially leave on a free if Liverpool opt to release him.
Steven Gerrard called the winger ‘very hungry’ following his arrival during the summer . If Liverpool were to release him, it could allow Rangers to pounce for his signature.
Plans
The Reds have been dominant in the league this season and at the break in play due to the global health pandemic, they are 25 points clear.
Arguably next season will be tougher though. Liverpool will be the team to beat and that could make them vulnerable.

Several fringe players are likely to be offloaded to make way for a couple of stellar recruits.
Klopp has a decent plethora of youngsters coming through the ranks and it would seem Lonergan and Ojo are both deemed surplus.
Others are likely to follow and as a result, it could be an intriguing summer transfer window for Liverpool.
