Liverpool and Tottenham scouts watch £50m midfielder in Europa League with the player ready to move in January

The January transfer window is quickly approaching and is going to offer both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur an opportunity to bolster their squads.

It has been a stunning start to the campaign for Liverpool, with Arne Slot’s side setting the pace in both the Premier League and Champions League.

The same cannot be said for Ange Postecoglou and his Tottenham side who slipped up again on Thursday night in the Europa League.

Ironically, the Reds did minimal business in the summer with Martin Zubimendi rejecting a move to Liverpool despite being their top target.

And it could well be seen as a case of more should have been done in north London with Tottenham’s squad already being tested through some significant injuries.

TBR Football understands both Liverpool and Spurs were in attendance on Thursday night in Eindhoven to check in on Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Georgiy Sudakov.

TBR Football has been told that Tottenham and Liverpool were amongst the sides in Eindhoven to check on Sudakov, although he was upstaged on the night by American star Malik Tillman – who himself is attracting all sorts of attention.

Sudakov, who is still only 22,  is understood to be ready to make the move away from Shakhtar – who are ready to sell.

Sudakov has been valued around £50m following his impressive run with the Ukrainian side but he was unable to guide them to victory on Thursday.

The midfielder has been able to provide a return of seven goals and two assists in the league alone so far this season.

However, he was unable to get his name on the scoresheet on Thursday night as Shakhtar collapsed in the l

It was certainly not Sudakov’s most productive display against the Eredivisie side but he remains a player in high demand.

Danny Murphy has already hailed Sudakov as he feels he is a player who could really prove a positive addition to a Premier League side.
