Liverpool and Manchester United considering bid to sign ‘very fast’ international forward who’d cost £34m

Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked with the same players more than once this summer and it looks like they could go head to head once more.

As we know, the main focus of attention for both clubs earlier in the window was a deal for Lille defender, Leny Yoro.

In the end, it was Manchester United who won out on that front as they landed one of the top young defensive talents in Europe.

However, it appears that another young talent from mainland Europe is now also in the cross-hairs of both clubs.

The impressive young German striker has already made his debut for his country and scored 16 goals last season for Hoffenheim.

It’s suggested that the German outfit want around £34m to consider selling Beier and they know that interest from England and elsewhere leaves them with a good chance of getting such a fee.

Liverpool’s interest here is not entirely brand new, given they showed an interest in Beier as far back as the winter in 2023.

Beier a bonus signing for Liverpool or United

Of course, Liverpool have yet to sign anyone this window and talk of bringing a new number nine in has not been something that’s dominated headlines.

United, meanwhile, have already spent money on Joshua Zirkzee and have Rasmus Hojlund as their long-term project at the nine.

A deal for Beier, then, would more than likely be considered a bonus signing really.

Described by German journalist ‘ – with comparisons to Thomas Muller – Beier is very much one of the Bundesliga’s top youngsters.

However, given the business already done by United and the apparent lack of business from Anfield, a move to bring Beier to England doesn’t seem too likely just yet.
